Where are you from?
Wermelskirchen, Germany

Do you have any favourite choir memories?
Mary Gordon in the NCH (it was hard work but the end result was amazing, such a haunting piece!)

What is the first record/cassette/CD you remember owning?
David Hasselhoff (*cringe*)

What are your hobbies besides singing?
playing the piano, indoor rock climbing

What is your favourite song?
Eve the Apple of My Eye“ by Bell X1

Do you have a favourite composer or musician?
Beethoven, Schubert

Do you play any instruments?
Piano and violin (neither particularly well)

What language(s) do you speak?
German, English, French, some Italian

What was the best concert or performance you’ve ever attended?
I believe it’s still to come: In April I’m going to see Martha Argerich –  81 year old world famous pianist – in Wiesbaden (Germany). She’ll be playing Liszt and Mozart with fellow pianist Sophie Pacini in a double recital. I’m so excited to see her live on stage …

Favourite show or piece you have ever performed?
Mozart’s Requiem

Favourite place you’ve ever visited?
Paris. I spent a few months living there in my early 20s. It will always be a part of me.

What’s one thing you’re learning now or learned recently?
Playing the piano. I got my first digital piano some twenty-odd years ago but never took any lessons. I finally got around to finding myself a teacher about a year ago.

What’s something you saw recently that made you smile?
My five year old daughter

What topic could you give an hour-long presentation on with little to no preparation?
I hate presentations but it would probably be poetry in the “Lord of the Rings“ (the subject of my university thesis)

If you could snap your fingers and become an expert in something, what would it be?
Music theory

If you could sing any voice part, which one would you choose?
I’m an alto at heart.
