As always the Bray Choral Society has an exciting programme of performances in the coming season. We hope that this programme may entice some singers to join us, all who can hold a note are welcome. If not a singer, but someone who likes to hear great works performed well then here is a summary of the concerts with dates for your diary, further details closer to the individual events. Do check back regularly as there may be other concerts added to the programme as the season progresses.
Christmas Carols – Saturday 14th December 2019, 8.00pm, Christ Church, Church Road, Bray, proceeds in aide of the local charity for the homeless, Five Loaves. Tickets €15 from a choir member or on the door.
March 2020: Following events cancelled due to covid pandemic.
Dublin Orchestral Players 80th Anniversary Concert: 22nd March 2020, National Concert Hall, 7.30pm. Bray Choral Society have been invited to join the DOP as they perform Mozart’s Requiem for this celebration of their landmark achievement.
Summer Concert – Date and venue yet to be confirmed. Once again Bray Choral Society will perform works by a contemporary composer, this time American Dan Forrest. Two works will form the programme for this concert, ‘Lux’ and ‘Jubilate Deo’.
New York Premiere of Howard Goodall’s Invictus: A Passion – Sunday 7th June – Carnegie Hall, New York. Following the success of the Society’s Irish premiere performance of this work earlier in 2019, Bray Choral Society has been invited to be part of a large choir to perform this contemporary work in New York for the first time. Howard Goodall himself will conduct.
